Storyline:
An epic story following a posse of Victorian ladies who wind up with uncommon capacities, tireless adversaries, and a mission that may change the world.
Somewhat recently of Victoria’s rule, London is plagued by the “Contacted”: individuals – generally ladies – who abruptly show strange capacities – some beguiling, some extremely upsetting. Among them are Amalia True (Laura Donnelly), a strange, speedy fisted widow, and Penance Adair (Ann Skelly), a splendid youthful creator. They are the heroes of this new underclass, making a permanent spot for the Touched while battling the powers of… all things considered, basically every one of the powers – to account for those whom history as far as we might be concerned has no spot.
REVIEW: Peculiar and overflowing with secret (in light of the first scene), it attracted me. Fine exhibitions by every one of the leads; heaps of fun subtleties and development. I’ll be observing more. Also, BTW, could somebody kindly tell the commentator who evaluated it “1” that this is a steampunk-imbued dream/SF arrangement? It’s not any more a revamp of Victorian history than “Lovecraft Country” was a change of American race relations during the 1950s, or “Penny Dreadful” a recorded narrative about this equivalent time.
